Checking in…

I’ve been a bit busy lately… Where to start? I’ve been in three countries in just the past ten days, which is always exciting, but that’s not necessarily where the ‘busy’ has been. In the last six weeks I have probably interviewed about 150 people…okay… realistically make that at least 75… but the other 75 are people I’ve just had conversations with, who probably all felt like they were being interviewed too…

Right now I’m sipping a cup of ready-mix coffee with sugar (that’s for Natalie) and waiting to board my flight at the Sikhuphe International Airport (which is so far on time). I must say that it is a really beautiful airport, with a back story, but that’s not for here.

Have I said before that I love my job? And the places it takes me. There’s just a little bit much of it at the moment, but this is not a complaint, it’s just an observation…

If it all works out I should be home in South Africa for the next two months at least! Which also means that I will now be able to move into the office space that I have been renting since the beginning of August. The good news here is that the ladies I’m renting with haven’t thrown me out or given my space to someone else, as I have after all been dutifully paying. I must say I’m really looking forward to working in a more formal environment for a while, and it should also be quite inspiring to share space with these creative folk.

I would like to leave YOU with this – please watch this happy optimistic TED talk, it is well worth the 12 odd minutes…

These kind of books can take between four and eight months to complete, depending on how many people need to be interviewed, and the ease of access to information. Do you have a deadline for the project?
